The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. It was founded in 1953 by 16 women working in the construction industry. The NAWIC Education Foundation (NEF) was established in 1973 by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). NEF is an IRS 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, which means all donations are deductible as a charitable donation. The Board of Trustees governs the Foundation.
